Gotenburg||Extension Post

I hope you enjoyed reading all about my latest adventures in Gothenburg, Sweden a few days ago, as you may have picked up on in my previous post I mentioned that I stayed in the Hotel Royal which was a short distance from the main town and central railway station. I also mentioned that I would give you a few different hotel ideas in that post, so here are my recommendations from the other day in this extension post. If you missed my latest post and would like to read it you can do so HERE.

Here are a few different hotel options in Gotenburg.

First up on my list we have the Glam and very luxurious 5 star hotel Elite Plaza Hotel. I will say this now that this particular hotel is not the most budget friendly but if you are looking to spend 1 night the Glam way this should definitely be a place to think about.

If this doesn't tempt you I don't know what will... photo taken from booking.com website.

One of my favourite things about this hotel bar the amazing rooms and absolutely huge beds is the fact that also has a great spa facility in it too, which is called the relaxation area and includes hot tub's and sauna's. It also comes fully equipped with a modern gym, which is free to use for all guests. Wifi is also free and available to use in every room and there is also a mini bar service, Flat screen TV's with cable channels and safes also in the rooms.  There are around 125 rooms in total which all come in a variety of different sizes with different prices, the cheapest being a small double room for around £104 per night, and the rooms which are more expensive in the hotel are priced at around £194 per night for the executive double. Considering the Elite Plaza is a 5 star rated hotel I think the room prices are very cheap and reasonable, they also come with breakfast included in the price and some offer a reserve now and pay later with free cancellation service.

Next up on the list is a more budget friendly option 3 star Ibis Styles Goteburg City hotel offering double rooms from around £78 per night. The hotel itself is a 12 minute walk from the central station so it is very close to all the main sights and tourist spots in the city. This is a great hotel to stay in if you are planning to get out and about and you just need somewhere to rest your head and store your belongings. In terms of facilities this hotel is pretty basic but still none the less the service is still as great. Rooms are modern and clean and come with all the usual services you would find in a budget hotel. One of the main things I think is great about this hotel is the restaurant and bar which offers main meals and snack food as well as great priced drinks. The best thing about this hotel though are the great views of Gotenburg.

Next up I have decided to pick a hotel suitable for those of you planning a business trip in the city and are looking for somewhere nice to get away and work at the same time.
The hotel I have chosen is Avalon Hotel. I found this hotel whilst browsing the tripadvisor website, and very nearly picked to stay in it myself but decided to go for something a little cheaper. This hotel is great though for those business trips away as it is very close to the main station (approx 800 metres away). The rooms look very comfortable spacious and modern. The cheapest room available is a standard double or twin room at £129 per night
and this also includes breakfast. You can expect to pay around £217 for a more expensive deluxe double room and some deluxe rooms even have their own private terrace. In terms of facilities most rooms come with a bath in the bathroom and flat screen tv's with satellite channels. There can be found a mini bar and tea and coffee facilities in every room. As well as slippers and a bath robe. This hotel also has a great restaurant/bar area and recently has opened up its own rooftop pool terrace which boasts some great views of the city.

So that brings us to the end of my hotel's in Gothenburg post, hope it has provided you with some useful options next time you are deciding where to stay when you come to visit. Keep coming back to read the rest of my holiday adventures!!
