Italy||Venice

Haven't posted in a while so today I thought I would write a post up about one place that I really would love to visit and hope to within the next few years. Here are a few things I have found to do and places to eat as well as stay in this romantic historically beautiful city of Venice in Italy.

I have been doing extensive research surrounding Venice for many months now and the thing I love to look at the most are all the great accommodation and hotels to stay in, so I am going to start my post with a few favourite places I have found.

1. Hotel Danieli Venice

All photos taken from the official hotel website.
This beautiful hotel which is situated on the Riva degli Schiavoni, a short walk away from the centre of the city offers some stunning views, a variety of luxurious rooms and some of Italy's finest cuisine this really is a place to stay if you are planning a romantic trip away of if you are celebrating a very special occasion like a birthday, wedding anniversary and is also great for honeymoons. The views alone are what makes this hotel a top recommendation.

Rooms availability...

So obviously these rooms in this hotel are way out of my price range.. but if money was no object I would definitely want to stay here during my trip (and pretend I was an Italian princess). I think all of these rooms really capture the romantic essence of the city, and the hotel is definitely one of the most lavish I have ever come across- and trust me I search for hotels ALOT!

A 'luxury double room' alone in this hotel for 2 nights stay is 1,585 euros. This room comes with all the usual amenities you would expect in a luxury hotel including Free toiletries, a bath robe and slippers, Flat screen TV with cable channels & pay per view movies as well as as a Mini bar. The views are also breathtaking and this is usually what attracts the visitors to this hotel.

Another great hotel in Venice which is a lot cheaper and hopefully in most peoples budget is the fabulous 3 star Hotel Antico Panada.  This hotel offers a real authentic Venetian vibe and although quaint it attracts a lot of visitors especially tourists.

For a 2 night stay (based on 2 persons) you can grab a classic double/ twin room for around 538.90 euros. The room comes with all of the usual hotel amenities and they even give you free toiletries with this hotel as well.  If you are travelling solo you can also reserve a classic single room which is cheaper at around 427.55 euros for 2 nights. This hotel is great to stay in if you planning to visit all the famous landmarks of Venice and it is only a short distance away from the main centre and Saint Mark's square.

Next up we have my favourite subject.. Food & Drink!! Here are just a few great restaurants and bars in Venice I have found when researching Venice night life on the trip advisor website.

Antico Forno Restaurant

This restaurant is famous for its deliciously fresh Pizza's and Pasta's and is one of the more authentic places to try Italian food in Venice. Although this is your average run of the mill restaurant (their are no seats and is more of a take away spot) this pizza place is great value for money and you can grab a slice for as little as 2.50 euros. So why not take a little trip here before you decide to wander the beautiful Venice streets.

Next up on the list is a more traditional and upmarket restaurants found in Venice.

Vineria all'Amarone Restaurant

Located on the Calle dei Sbianchesini streets of Venice this wine bar and restaurant is the perfect place to come if you are looking for something a bit more relaxed, quiet and out of the main busy city centre. Most speak of this little family run winery with warmth and affection and say that the simple authentic food and great selection of wines are what set apart from the rest in Venice. Many reviewer's have even stated that they have visited this restaurant twice or more during their visits in the city, hence the reason I chose this for you.

I am nearly at the end of my Venice post but before I go here are just a few places of interest you might like to visit when you are here...

Rialto Bridge (Ponte di Rialto)

This to me is considered true Venice. This bridge was built nearly 400 years ago and still remains one of the most popular landmarks the city has to offer attracting millions of visitors a year. The is no fee to pay to view this bridge, so it should definitely be on your bucket list if you come to visit the city. It is also a great place to visit for shopping fans as it has a few shops on the bridge now. It is also a fantastic place if you are a photographer as you can capture some beautiful photos.

Grand Canal

This is something that is a must on your trip!! Not many people have been to Venice and not experienced a ride in a gondola on the Grand Canal. The canal does get very busy especially during certain times (usually very early evening) so I would suggest booking or visiting early during the day. This really is a great way of seeing the breath taking sights of Venice. You can book a walking tour and a gondola ride from this site here from around £36. The tour usually lasts around 2 hours including a 35 minute gondola ride in the Grand Canal. You will have a knowledgeable guide with you on hand to talk you through some of the cities history. It really does make for a great romantic trip out.
