A Romantic weekend in Barcelona||Part One

The trip was planned for my boyfriend's birthday and as soon as I started researching all about the city I knew it was a great choice and couldn't wait to go.

We booked our weekend away on the 18th April till the 20th, with a little help from the very handy last minute.com website. It was very useful for us and we managed to score a great last minute deal.

We flew out to Barcelona el Prat airport from London Gatwick on the 18th which was a Saturday. We were originally going to fly out the night before but found out that the flights were actually double in price. So opted for the day after instead. We flew out with Vueling a low budget Spanish airline who are predominately based in Barcelona, and because we paid in euros we managed to get a cheaper flight this way than if we were to go with Easy Jet.

Goodbye London...

Hello Barcelona!!

The flight only took 2 hours 25 minutes which went very quickly once we were up in the air. As soon as we landed and got through passport controls we went straight to the exit in search for the taxi's to our hotel.

La Rambla- Barcelona's most iconic street.

The hotel we stayed at was called Hotel 1898 located on the Barcelona's famous street La Rambla. We opted for this hotel not only for the incredible rooftop but the distance into the centre of city. It was so centrally located we ended up walking most places.

This hotel was part of the package we bought online at Lastminute.com but you can also book on any hotel websites, and they also sometimes offer lots of discount options if booked in advance.

The hotel itself was very large and grand inside, it had very traditional décor with big high ceilings, black interior and dark wood oak floors, which we absolutely loved. It also had 7 floors and a massive roof top complete with bar and restaurant. It really was so lovely to sit up there on the hot and sunny days. The hotel also offered a pool and spa, which we didn't go in but definitely would if we were to come back to stay.

Here are some of the photos I took during my time in spent in the hotel & at the rooftop bar- hope you enjoy.

So there we have a small selection of photos from my trip. I will be posting part two of my adventure this week so look out for that...
