A Summers Holiday||Part One

Summer is nearly over for us all here in England boohoo!! (not that we really had one this year in the first place) so we have decided to book a last minute holiday to cheer ourselves up. After a lot of deliberation and A LOT of countries to choose from we have decided that in just 2 weeks time we are going to drop by to Tenerife for some fun in the sun.

Firstly we decided we didn't want to stray too far as we were planning on a big State Side adventure next year already, and as this is a last minute holiday we didn't want it to be too expensive. We chose Tenerife because my boyfriend went to his friends stag do there in May this year. He didn't get to explore much of the Island so he wanted to go back to visit parts he didn't get to visit last time, and one of my very first family holiday's was here and I hadn't had the chance to go back for years until now. My brother will also be out there at the same time as me and we will be meeting up with him and his friends, So Tenerife is somewhere we have both been before but want to go back to explore other places.

We also loved that it was only a 4 hour plane journey and the weather is scorching at the moment (highs of 39 degree's)
I also think from researching, Tenerife has some of the best night life out of all the Canary Islands and that is something quite important to us.

We decided to stay in the Los Christianos part of the Island as we have both stayed in Playa de las Americas and wanted to see what the rest of the island had to offer.

We have opted for a 5 star hotel and will be going for the half board option. We usually like to go out for lunch during the day so getting the all inclusive package seemed rather pricey and pointless for us, but if it were to be a holiday where we wanted to relax in the hotel all day every day we would definitely have gone for this.

The hotel we will be staying at is the Dream Hotel Gran Tacande & Spa which have booked for 9 nights. We fly out on the 25th from London Stansted to Tenerife South. For a 9 nights stay in a double room with half board it has cost us only £1,182.00 (not inclusive of flights). We are flying with Ryan air and chose the budget airline option so that we could stay in a nicer hotel. We originally booked this through Lastminute.com.

The hotel has lots of facilities including a Spa and wellness centre, a Sauna/steam room, Outdoor Swimming Pools and a hot tub on site as well as a large Tennis Court, which can be used free of charge by all guests. It is also situated 150 yards from the Plaza del Duques shopping centre and it is near the beach. So if you don't want to be stuck in the hotel all day there is lots to explore nearby.

We have also been told that there are lots of bars and restaurants outside of the hotel and the hotels resutarant bar area is also very nice.

The rooms (as seen in photo above) look bright spacious, clean and modern. I love the canopy above the bed- that is a really lovely touch, and all rooms comes with a balcony. If you want a sea view or a pool view you will need to ask and there may be an additional charge for the up grade.  (This is something we will decide to do once we get out there and have seen our room). Rooms come equipped with the usual amenities you would expect to find in a 5 star hotel, but if in doubt definitely ask upon arrival. There is free wi-fi everywhere in the hotel, and as far as I am aware pets are not allowed.

The Bathroom is what really drew us to this hotel. I especially love to the look of the jacuzzi bath and cant wait to try this out.
But the thing we are most excited by is the inside hot tub/swimming pool area it really does look beautiful and I know we are not going to want to leave.

I can't wait to take some photos of my own and show them off to everyone!

Although we are very lucky enough to be staying in a 5 star world class hotel we don't want to just be tied to the hotel all day we would like to get out during the afternoon and evenings for some food and drinks and maybe a little walk along the promenade. There seems to be lots out there to do for young couples so I will be back soon with things we would like to see and do on our summers holiday in Tenerife.
