A Spring Surprise||Vienna, Austria

We are already in the second week of March can you even believe it? I haven't done one of these posts for a while now, makes a nice change to finally have something to look forward to and be able to plan here on the blog I think. If you are a keen 'Glam Travel-guider' (thanks thought it up myself) you may remember me mentioning briefly on a few occasions last month that I am planning to jet off to Vienna in April for my boyfriends 29th Birthday. Well as its getting ever closer to April I thought I better get my planning pants on and book some flights or something.

Having never been to Vienna I am pretty clueless on flight deals, where's good to stay and things to see and do. My first ever A-Z Top 2 Countries post was all about Vienna you can read that here. I am mostly going to try and use all what I have learnt about Vienna in that post. I watched a great comedy documentary on Channel 4 the other week called  'Travel Man:48 hours in Vienna' hosted by actor and comedian Richard Ayoade, so that has also given me a few ideas on things to see and do during the days we are there.

Attracting around 3.7 million visitors a year Vienna has also just been nominated number 1 best country this year. It seems we have picked a great year to travel here as everyone is talking about it (I am hoping this means that flights and hotels don't get booked up too quickly though).

We have found one really nice 5 star hotel we are seriously considering booking for the trip called  'Hotel Sans Souci Wien' it looks incredible from what I have already researched. The main thing for us when finding hotels is usually the distance from the main city. This hotel is only a 5 minute walk from the Ringstrabe Boulevard and is also located in the museum quarter. Another really attractive aspect of this hotel is its great transport links, the Volkstheater Underground Station is only a 2 minute walk away. We have been on Trip Advisor to see what reviews the hotel has and could only see 3 terrible reviews out of 787, again this is another really important thing for us when picking a hotel. You can see the reviews for yourself here.  Hotel is a little on the pricey side, but we are thinking it will definitely be more than worth it considering we are visiting for a big birthday occasion. It can't hurt to splash out once in a while can it?

Of course there are thousands of Hotels to choose from in the Capital to suite all different budgets why not check out my guide to see which other ones I recommend.

Things to see and do...

One thing which really interests me is the Freud Museum which I hear is a must see when in Vienna. (There is also a University in Vienna named after him, specialising in the Science's).  There are a few other things on the list as well which I am going to try and see whilst here including...

So there we have just a little bit about my impending trip to Vienna, we are hoping to be there from the 21st of April until the 25th so if anyone has any great suggestions for things to do around this time I would love to hear about them!

If you or anyone you know has been and would like the opportunity to write me a Guest Post on Vienna I would love to feature it here on my blog. Please go my guest post section for more info.
