Guest Post||Most Romantic French Towns You Have To See

Surely, Paris is among the most romantic cities in the world. However, if you scratch the surface a bit, you will learn that it is far from being the only French City that radiates romance and love. Moreover, France is packed with whimsical villages and towns that will put you in the mood for love. Here are some of them. They also have more than satisfying touristic offer, so you will not lack the luxury there.

The Valensole Plateau is lavender central of France. The endless field with the soothing smell of Lavender and the gentle colour of purple lend themselves for romantic walks for couples. To experience this lavender tradition in its entirety, make sure that you are in Valensole during the Lavender Festival. Nibble on some amazing Macarons and enjoy the Scene.

Eze

Is there anything more romantic than night walks on the French Rivera? Eze is a charming little place, near Nice that offers all the exclusivity of its bigger sibling with all the privacy a couple may need. Roam the cobblestone streets and find accommodation in one of those old houses that are covered in bougainvillea. You can wander the Eze Garden or admire the parish church and chapel. Also, you will not lack luxury here. There is a perfume factory in this gorgeous place and that is definitely something that you will want to see.

Etretat

Holding your loved one while you observe the gorgeous turquoise waters, splashing against the white chalk rocks and arches of Etretat coast is enough romance for anyone. You can have a nice picnic on the beach underneath those rocks or just go for a walk. The two magnificent rocks to see and enjoy are the Falaise d'Etretat and Chemin des Douaniers.

Colmar

The 'Little Venice' tells you all you need to know about the romantic potential of Colmar. However, while it has tons of canals and little pontes, just like Venice, some may say that it is even better than this more famous city. Colmar is all about the gorgeous Renaissance half-timbered houses, covered in gorgeous flowers. Also, it is one the Wine route of Alsace meaning it is all about cute houses, flowers and wine. Does it get more romantic than that?

Carcassone

Take a romantic cruise in France, visit Carcassone and enjoy the echoes of the past by walking around the real, fortified town on top of the hill, just like from the fairy tales. However, do not be fooled by the cobblestone streets and the ancient fortress. You can enjoy some amazing restaurants of modern French cusinie here in Carcassone. A romantic dinner for two is easy to organize here.

Cotignac

There is this huge rock, with a cute town of Cotignac on it. It is told to have a real character. The rock that is its home also gave a movie-like background to this town- a gorgeous waterfall. If the scenery is not romantic enough, Cotignac is packed with fountains and delicious wines that just make everything better. If you are lucky, or just well organized, you can enjoy some interesting events in Cotignac that take place in the outdoor theatre there.

Gordes

People usually talk about Gordes as one of the most beautiful villages of France. It is not big, but it is cozy, lovely and adorable. However, it does not mean that it cannot be very luxurious because a lot of celebrities found their place here. The castle and the old old presses in the cellar will give you something to explore, but make sure you steal yourself for a glass of wine or two, as well.

While you can have quite a lovely time in these towns, you can always make it a bit better. You can do it by including cute towns on the seaside, named Cassis. The amazing Creme de Cassis is made there and it makes a perfect ingredient for many cocktails. Sip them by the sea with your loved one.
